~New Motto

Do hard things and learn to love them!

A sister missionary told me a story once about one of her companions. This companion wanted to serve the Lord as well as lose weight. As a missionary rule exercise is apart of their prep day. For the first half of her mission she would run and get so behind the sisters that she would become lost and felt alone therefore she did not like to run. When they became companions this sister (telling me this story) said she would do anything to help her new companion to reach her goal of losing weight. The first couple of prep days they only ran for about a block or two. Then as time progressed the sisters ended up running for 3 hours straight, that is like a half-marathon!! :D This sister went through so much but obtain even greater. :) As her farewell talk to the missionaries in the area she talked about "Doing hard things and learning to love them". Not only was the sister's testimony strengthened but the testimony of the companion was also strengthened by seeing her dear friend reach her goal by the end of her mission. This testimony of the companion was shared today in my family ward. Through these two sisters I witnessed that hard things in life are to only make us stronger. At this time in my life I am going through some tough times and as I sat and listened today in church I was given so much peace. Today was an ah hah day! ;) The Lord definately knew what I needed to hear. I know that our Savior is always looking out for us and that he hears and answers our prayers. Yes life is hard and it always will be but I know that as long as we have the gospel of Jesus Christ in our life we can overcome anything. I am going to take my challenges head on just like the sister missionary in the story. Cuz ya know. . . we should live our life like a missionary! :)
